Sandy Chen Stokes is the founder and executive director of the Chinese American Coalition for Compassionate Care (CACCC). She has been providing end-of-life training to the Chinese community and to healthcare professionals since 2005, which includes advance care planning, hospice, palliative care, spiritual and mindful self-care, loss, and grief. Under Ms. Stokes’s leadership, CACCC has produced videos, books, and other educational materials, including the Heart to Heart® cards and Heart to Heart® Café, where the cards are used to start the conversation. Ms. Stokes is a member of the advisory board for the Chinese Health Initiative at El Camino Health in California.
